You have come to find the answers that lurk deep within your mind
But yet you fail to see the face that is right before your eyes
The mask you seem to wear, I fear, is merely a disguise
And yet you have the audacity to villainize me

If you look in the mirror, what do you see? Is it the face of your true enemy?

Go ahead and play the victim, I know you know that part so well
Yet we both know it’s not the first time that you’ve had to mask your guilt
Go and play the double standards just enough to raise the stakes
Now hold the knife up high to cut a smile in my face

This twisted face has been etched into a grin,
the scars may fade but the memories permanent

What’s the point of masks when It’s you and I in this charade
It’s almost as if you had something to vindicate
Perhaps inside it’s you who feels dismayed
you’ve concocted yourself a bitter Masquerade

Tonight we find a reason for this expose
Some proof for you to contradict this fallacy
It’s just like a self fulfilling prophecy
Except who is going to write this one down for me?

Just because you see me smiling, you don't fear what's underneath
The taunting and the snarling and the gnashing of my teeth
Stare into my eyes and you will see my madness coming ‘round
Always silently provoking, begging, pleading to call you out

Isn't it ironic that you’re a liar, yet I have become the pariah?

Go ahead and point your finger, pretend you're innocent after all
There is nothing like denying all the pride before the fall
I’m at peace with my part in all of this and I know without dismay
That I will get the last laugh and will take it to my grave

I’m done with this charade, save yourself the embarrassment and fuck off already

Oh nemesis; the catalyst. Everything leads up to this
point, this place-- each decision, each mistake
I have yearned to tell you this, my evil as it manifests
a haunting that is constantly consuming you as time progresses
You will hear me laughing, I’m the voice in all the crowds
And I will follow you forever-- Who's the coward now?
