lyrics
I come from a humble past, there's not much to boast of
and climbed the ladder of privilege, not impossible
Sitting at the top of this ivory, I can’t help but see the irony
I wouldn't have it any other way
I never thought that I could be corrupted so easily
but some things turn out that way surprisingly
Wasn't for popularity, or being a part of the elite
But you'd be a fool to waste opportunities like these
Carry my dreams toward the sky I marvel as I watch them take flight
Among the murders and the flocks I gather around me tonight
If I don't reach for stars on high, pursue what it means to be alive
Regret will consume me inside; my hopes like my wings, flightless
Judge me for what I've done, you have no wings to speak of
It's easy to feel superior on that pedestal above
If you and I are supposed to be the same,
why would you feel okay with me being treated in this way?
Now juxtapose the evil, you’ll be eating crow indefinitely
So what would the point in trying to be discreet
If a monster is what they want, a villain is what they'll get
In the end, after all my suffering, I couldn’t care less
In retrospect it truly doesn't seem so strange
It's picture perfect, almost as if it were staged
Tell me, am I too far gone to be saved?
Or will things work out for me in a better way?
Don't worry, I always have a penchant for success
